Wahay! I’ve managed to complete an entry for every day since New Year’s Day! That’s more blogging than I’ve done before, ever. Its not always been good, or interesting, but that’s besides the point. More than anything, this blog is a record for me.
Unfortunately – another ‘nothing’ day, really. Oh, Aimee’s replacement ‘bunny’ came today, and she appears to have accepted it. This is good news indeed. I think we’ll buy another and keep it hidden away, for the next time she decides to jettison the bunny from her stroller.
I watched an interesting documentary today about insurance scams – ‘Scams, Fiddles and Honest Claims’. It follows a team of insurance company fraud investigators – trying to track down the insurance cheats that claim on their insurance policies for things that might not necessarily be 100% true.
One of the highlights was the investigator who was tracking a lady who’d reported her £2,500 engagement ring as lost or stolen. The investigator had done some background checks, and had even spoken to the policyholder’s ex-fiance – who, it turns out, actually has the ring. He’d left the policyholder, and took the ring with him! FAIL!
It did a fairly good job of illustrating what pedantic cunts insurers are – like paying out only 50% of one guy’s claim because he described the theft of some fishing gear from a trailer attached to his car as happening ‘on his drive’ when in fact it’d happened ‘outside his garage’ – 20 feet away – or the flood victims whose entire £40,000 claim was thrown out because Churchill didn’t believe that they kept a freezer and a fridge in an outbuilding in their garden. Something I ought to look at, being as we keep a freezer, fridge, washing machine and dryer in one of our outbuildings…
It’s supposed to snow tomorrow and over the weekend. We’ll see what happens – I predict there’ll be zero snow when I wake up tomorrow, and maybe 10 minutes of watery snow to fall during the day.
Anyway, that’s entry number 31, Thursday 31st Janaury 2008… here’s to the next 334 days of stuff and nonsense! Cheers.
