Leading on from yesterday’s entry… Of course, ‘snoozing’ an alarm clock implies that it was actually set in the first place. Which was not the case this morning, and I awoke with a start at 8:30 realising that we’d all overslept – even Aimee was still asleep!

We scrabbled to get Aimee and ourselves sorted, and Emma dashed off with the monster to take her to nursery, and herself to work, whilst I dashed out of the house to the car to get to work, late.

At least I’d be ‘late’ if the car actually started. Gah! Again. This is ridiculous. I call Mazda Assist again and yet another mechanic is out to the car, and I lose half a day’s work. He gets it started again, and says that the engine had flooded, and the battery is knackered – the latter is exactly what the last guy said, and apparently exactly what the dealer ‘replaced’ the other day…. Can anyone else smell bullshit? The car’s back in at the excellent dealers on Monday, so hopefully that’ll be the end of it.

The mechanic tells me that he only ever has to look at RX8′s for starting issues – telling me that he’s never, ever had to deal with one pulled up on the hard-shoulder of a motorway, or broken down in a layby – it’s always starting problems on people’s driveways or outside their houses. I’ll have to do some investigations – but initial Googling suggests that the RX8 is very prone to engine flooding, if the car is started up cold and then shut off quickly.

I finally get into work at about lunchtime. It’s a busy afternoon and 6pm comes along really, really quickly. I just catch Aimee before bed, and manage to get a cuddle and a smile out of her.

Emma is really cut up about Aimee losing her ‘bunny’ comforter toy (Aimee lost it over the weekend whilst staying at her Nana’s) – up until this weekend, she’s gone to bed with that bunny every night since she was born. However, Aimee appears to have latched onto another soft toy in its absence – a stuffed cow sent to us as a free gift by Cow & Gate! He is, tentatively, named ‘Moo Moo’.

A lovely sausage casserole for tea and shortly it’ll be off to bed for me. I’ll try and remember to set the alarm for tomorrow. :)

That’s probably because they never get that far, they’re all stuck on people’s driveways.

Apparently, according to my internet research for a replacement, Bedtime “Bunny” which we named when he was first given to us is actually a dog called Patch!! I am gutted that it has gone – just because I am so sentimental and know what I would have felt like if I had ever lost my pound puppy called Smokey when I was little – however, the replacement “patch” should arrive tomorrow. I know it won’t be the same but what can we do .. Bedtime Bunny has officially gone forever! :(
